高知県産の珊瑚に、牡丹の花を蒔絵しました。
花びらごとに盛り上げて立体感を出し、金粉を蒔いた後ピンク色の漆で塗った後、研ぎ出しています。
中心には鮑の貝を入れているので、角度によって光ります。
両側面には葉っぱの蒔絵をしています。
珊瑚の色が美しいので、小さいながら存在感のある作品となっています。

This pendant features a peony inlaid with maki-e (golden lacquer) on coral from Kochi Prefecture.
Each petal is raised to create a three-dimensional effect, then sprinkled with gold powder and coated with pink lacquer before being polished.
An abalone shell is set in the center, causing it to shine depending on the angle.
Leaf maki-e (golden lacquer) is adorned on both sides.
The beautiful color of the coral gives this pendant a striking presence despite its small size.
