マッコウクジラの歯に、海獣の”ステラーカイギュウ”を蒔絵をしたペンダントです。
周囲に金色の貝をモザイクのように貼り、その上から金箔も貼っています。
その中に、絶滅してしまった“ステラーカイギュウ“を泳がせました。大変のんびりとした優しい動物だったそうです。
白地に蒔絵と貝の光が映える美しい作品です。

This pendant features a sperm whale tooth adorned with a maki-e (lacquerware) design of Steller's sea cow.
Golden shell is inlaid in a mosaic pattern around the tooth, and gold leaf is applied over it.
Within this design, the now-extinct Steller's sea cow is depicted swimming. It was said to be a very gentle and peaceful animal.
The maki-e and shell shimmer beautifully against the white background, creating a stunning piece.
It harmonizes with a wide range of styles and will be a versatile addition to any occasion.
