蒔絵ペンダント【六実】/ 琥珀、シルバー950

リトアニア産のコニャック系の琥珀に、ひょうたんをデザインしました。

ひょうたん自体は青い貝を使って作り、葉っぱを銀の高蒔絵で仕上げています。

裏面は、ひょうたんを繋げた文様を銀の板で作り、貼っています。

そして、ひょうたん以外の銀の板の厚みのところに緑系の漆を何度も重ねて埋めて、最後に研ぎ出しています。

ちょっと分かりづらいのですが、裏面にひょうたんが５つ、表面に１つ合計６つで、六瓢(無病)となっています。

糸鋸で銀の板をカットして、漆器に貼り付ける技法を 平文もしくは平脱といい、これは正倉院御物にもある大変古い技法です。

琥珀の優しい色合いと貝の美しさ、平文で作った模様が相まって、胸元の存在感を引き立てます。

A gourd design is made from Lithuanian konjac amber.

The gourd itself is made from a blue shell, and the leaves are finished with silver taka-maki-e.

A pattern of connected gourds is made from a silver plate and pasted on the back.

Green lacquer is then applied repeatedly to the thickness of the silver plate except for the gourds, and finally the plate is polished.

It's a little hard to see, but there are five gourds on the back and one on the front, for a total of six gourds (no disease).

The technique of cutting a silver plate with a jigsaw and pasting it on lacquerware is called Heimon or Heidatsu, and is a very old technique that is also found in the treasures of the Shosoin Repository.

The gentle color of the amber, the beauty of the shell, and the pattern made with Heimon combine to enhance the presence of the chest.
